For the past few years, Jack Lawrence has been holding it down on the West Coast as Life Without Andy’s go-to shooter. Seemingly omnipresent on Perth’s club scene, his reputation as one of the country’s most prominent music photographers is one that’s well-earned.

Spending much of his live overseas, interstate or on the road, Jack certainly doesn’t live a normal life – and like all good photographers, he documents his experiences with dedication. That’s how his latest project titled ‘No Show’ was formed: Music photographs dedicated to everything except the gig itself. That means backstage action, candid shots and intimate moments that give show you a more human side to Australia’s dance heroes. Not only is Jack the photographer of choice for skyrocketing trio RÜFÜS, but he’s also stepped in to shoot with Peking Duk, Tkay Maidza and more.

Speaking on the project, Jack says “I felt it was always the unseen stuff people wanted to see. The series delves into all the backstage antics, emotions, kick-ons, fucked up hangovers and endless travels associated with a touring artist or show. The idea came about after a few months on the road recently with RÜFÜS and touring with other artists over the years. I had a huge collection of photos and realised most hadn’t even seen the light of day, so I jumped right in and put them all together for an all new view on live music and the industry. Come see the unseen.”
