Party & Bullshit
December 11, 2017

There isn’t another rapper in the country with the momentum of Manu Crooks.

With his profile steadily growing over the past few years, it all culminated with Manu’s first hometown headline show at Hudson Ballroom. The local rapper has received overwhelming local and international support for his debut Mood Forever EP, and last week he officially launched it in Sydney with a raucous Thursday night gig.

Yemisul opened things up with unlimited bangers behind the decks before DJ Ziggy took over, with temperatures rising and leaving the crowd sweat-drenched before Manu even stepped onstage. Once he did, he couldn’t be stopped: Manu ran through all tracks from Mood Forever as well as crowd favourites like ‘Everyday’ and when ‘Assumptions’ blares over the speakers, it’s full blown chaos. Manu’s frequent collaborators, Miracle and Anfa Rose also make cameos onstage, making this a family affair.

Just a few days after this show, Manu Crooks performed at Alison Wonderland’s Scarehouse Project tour – and after his set, he was invited back onstage to perform ‘Assumptions’ once more during ASAP Ferg’s set. A huge moment, and a glaring indication that 2018 is going to be even bigger for Manu. See the Mood Forever launch pics here:
