Having seen Gang of Youths live, we know that it’s only a matter of time before these guys start causing some serious international waves.

Their album The Positions was released a few weeks back – a slab of brutally honest rock that hit the Top 10 on the ARIA charts after unanimous praise from critics and tastemakers. This was followed by a national tour that sold out across the country – leaving fans thirsting for more.

We’re super lucky that we got to spend a day with Gang of Youths before a headline show in Sydney – see how it went down here:

Singos and sweaters at sound check: Max & Joji get into the full swing of things ahead of tonight’s gig at Oxford Art Factory.

Sunglasses indoors, the ultimate flex. #HATERSHADES

Gang of Youths-7

The tricky and arduous task of untangling an ear piece. Bandmates look after each other with heartwarming acts of TLC like this. #FRIENDSFOREVER

Soundcheck is getting so heated at soundcheck that Jung is Tweeting all the GOY fans about how turnt up tonight’s show is going to be.

Dave channeling a little dramatic Freddy Mercury into his performance. Cool fact: Dave is a huge literature and art aficionado, dropping some knowledge bombs on us about Chagall, Klimt and Notting Hill. He doesn’t like any paintings before the 1800s. Motherfuckers back in 1762 really needed to step their game up. #ART

More teamwork.

It’s looking good from the dancefloor – thumbs up all round! That’s a wrap, see you soon Oxford Art Factory.

Now that soundcheck is over, we move onto more important things: FIFA on Playstation 4. Some of the band go to bed, but the real warriors pick up a control.

Very relevant and news-worthy video gaming. #FIFASCANDAL #SEPPBLATTERRESIGNS

Time to grab some grub ahead of the show tonight. Burgers for the boys!

“These are our friends. They are like Death Grips but a little more bells and a little less grips.”

Side portfolio shot, full on male model styles. Time to head inside OAF and wait for the punters to stream in.

“Did somebody say rider?” Poking your head through doors in the hope of getting free alcohol is the only way to live in 2015.

Pensive reflections. About to step out for his sold out show, to begin his sold out tour, Dave is a sold out guy. But he emphasised to me that being commercial is never a thought he has making music. He just want’s to create music that people can get down with – ad admirable quality in today’s day and age.

Jung checking up on the Tweet he sent out at soundcheck. It hasn’t got as much online action as first anticipated. Give the lads some love and RT their 140 character gems right here.

This is also the first time the guys are seeing their own merchandise. Gang Of Youths footy shorts and stubbie holders next, please! Here are the guys chatting with the cute merchandise lady, salute to her sales tactics and good banter.

Showtime: smoke & silhouettes, the whole shebang.

Gang of Youths-52

Light at the end of the tunnel.

Gang of Youths-49

Gang of Youths will hit you right in the feels. This is passionate stuff from the lads, get stuck into it and headbang for the rest of eternity.

Gang of Youths-55

What an intense show. Hug it out! Thanks to Gang of Youths for hanging out for a whole day, and make sure you give The Positions a listen ASAP.
