Two of Hollywood’s most recognisable names come together in this Dee Rees directed drama.

We must admit, the idea of seeing Anne Hathaway, Ben Affleck and Willem Defoe in a film based on a book by the great Joan Didion is the kind of news we like to wake up to on a Thursday.

From what we can tell, the new Netflix film which will be hitting screens on February 21, follows reporter Elena McMahon (Hathaway) who is investigating contra activity in Central America, finding out her father (Defoe) is involved in arms dealing and being forced to run guns and avoid a US State official (Affleck).

The stakes look high and there’s certainly enough talent here to carry pretty much anything, and with Mudbound director Dee Rees at the helm, we reckon we’re in for a treat.
