Waves of nostalgia…

It’s time to get stupid again, as beloved cartoon Beavis and Butt-Head is coming back to Comedy Central for two new seasons. The original series aired on MTV from 1993 to 1997, with it spawning the spinoffs Daria and the 1996 feature film Beavis and Butt-Head Do America. The new seasons will mark series creator Mike Judge’s return to animation and first major project since the end of Silicon Valley last year.

Judge is definitely gonna have his hands full with the reboot, as he’s set to not only write and produce it, but also voice the titular characters. We haven’t got a whole lot of deets about the reboot yet, but a press release has noted that the new chapter will catch up with the boys in the present day, along with “meta-themes relatable to both new and old fans — Gen X parents and their Gen Z kids.”

Speaking on the reboot, Judge had the perfect reason for the move, stating “It seemed like the time was right to get stupid again.” He’s most certainly right. Check a clip from the OG show below and get keen af.
