Imagine the copious amounts of memes it would give birth to…

In news that is set to blow the stratosphere for anyone who did a high school English class or just had a really sick taste in movies as a kid, Napoleon Dynamite star Jon Heder has recently teased getting the gang back together for a sequel. Speaking during a virtual Wizard World panel with co-stars Efren Ramirez and Diedrich Bader (Pedro and Rex), Heder said he would be very down for a sequel if they could get the right story.

“I would come back if Jared decided, ‘Hey, let’s go ahead, and let’s see if we can pull off the magic.’ We’ve thought about it. We’re always playing with the idea.”

Although the original film was loveably goofy, and portrayed the ever-so strange Napoleon and Pedro in all of their glorious awkwardness, Heder has made it clear the sequel would have to be way more darker.

“I feel like the future for Napoleon would be a lot more raw and edgy. So whatever he comes up with would be fun to explore. Because I think whatever Jared comes up with wouldn’t be your typical, ‘let’s do a sequel where they all look the same and they all act the same’. I think it would be an interesting development in their lives.”

Ramirez also shared his thoughts on where he thinks the characters would end up years after the original, stating that his character Pedro would be a father of five and married to Summer, while running his own bakery. Whereas Rex would be having marital problems with his wife Starla and Kip would be a working cage fighter.

“There’s so much more depth to find through these characters, especially in their futures. That would be pretty interesting.” He’s definitely got a point, here’s hoping we get the sequel we’ve all been unknowingly waiting for sometime in the near future.
