Gonna be good to see Sandler in a comedy again…

Netflix has released new details about its upcoming Adam Sandler comedy Hubie Halloween, announcing a release date of October 7, along with a slew of new images from the film. Directed by one of Sandler’s most frequent collaborators Steven Brill and based on a script co-written by Sandler himself, the movie follows the comedic legend as he is thrust into the middle of a Halloween murder case in Salem, Massachusetts. His character, Hubie, is a deli worker who loves his hometown and its iconic Halloween celebrations, despite the fact that he’s constantly mocked and is essentially the town joke. However, when the town faces danger and its Halloween celebrations are threatened, only Hubie has the power to save them all.

The cast is properly stacked, featuring performances from Hollywood veterans such as Kevin James, Maya Rudolph, Julie Bowen and so many more. There’s plenty of new talent as well, with stars such as Kenan Thompson, Mikey Day and Melissa Villaseñor making appearances in the film.

We’re definitely sold on this new Sandler flick, and although it was cool to see Sandler truly push his limits in last year’s Uncut Gems, it’ll be super dope to see him in a comedy again. Check the official images from the movie below.
