One of the best in the game…

As protests continue to rage on across the U.S. in response to the brutal killing of George Floyd, countless stars and celebs are joining in to lend their voices to the movement, and it’s made for some inspiring moments.

With John Boyega making an amazing speech at a Black Lives Matter protest in London just last week, Michael B Jordan has now stepped out in LA, this time calling out Hollywood and the inadequate representation of African Americans on the big screen.

Starting off by listing the important characters he’s played throughout his career and their relevance to the current climate, Jordan commanded the crowd with total ease, before calling out the film industry saying “We are in the heart of Hollywood right now, one of the world’s most powerful industries and I am an active member of that. And they need to go on notice,” he said. “Anybody that deals with me, if you have racist beliefs, if you have a racist bone in your body, if you’re not with me, if you don’t stand with me and people that look like me, you don’t need to be with me. I use my power to demand diversity but it’s time that studios and agencies do so.”

Jordan went on, calling out Hollywood agencies in their failure to deliver on their inclusion promises they made in 2020, saying “You committed to a 50/50 gender parity in 2020. Where is the challenge to commit to black hiring? Black content led by black executives, black consultants. Are you policing our storytelling as well? Let us bring our darkness to the light.”

It’s definitely inspiring, and of course Michael B manages to invigorate all who listen. If there are any individuals that have been consistently trying to bring about change and adequately represent African-Americans in the entertainment industry over the past couple of years, it’s without a doubt Michael B Jordan, and no doubt this isn’t the last we’ll be hearing of him during the current crisis.
