Last Friday, two of Australia’s brightest breakout stars, Tkay Maidza & Basenji, connected on a new single titled ‘Mistakes.’

Both parties have been keeping busy: Basenji’s debut Trackpad EP has accumulated 14 million plays on Spotify, while he’s played virtually every major festival in Australia and toured across North America with his Future Classic labelmate, Flume. Meanwhile Tkay Maidza has been collaborating with everyone from Killer Mike to Martin Solveig, recently tackling some of the country’s most spacious venues with RL Grime.

‘Mistakes’ proves to be a highlight on both their catalogues, with Tkay’s vocals taking a more uplifting turn and complimenting Basenji’s punchy production, especially during the track’s monumental, soaring hook. Moreover, it’s further evidence of both artists’ ability to delve into the pop world with slick, confident results.
