The indie/disco/punk legends are back with new shows coming in 2019.

As reported on Stereogum, the New York outfit have reunited for two shows after having broken up back in 2014. They’ll be performing at Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg as well as Just Like Heaven Festival. In a statement on their facebook, frontman Jenner shines an optimistic light on the chance of new music.

“It’s been this long gritty road trying to figure out how to be a father and a husband which seemed a lot more important than standing on stage in front of anyone,” Jenner says. “We went to therapy, we talked it out, it’s still a little weird, but I couldn’t do it if I didn’t feel like it was gonna be some kinda personal progress. Anyway, I hope there is a long future for us and we can build something new. Maybe you will join us someplace along the way again.”

The Rapture were part of the early 2000’s rock revival that launched the careers of acts like The Strokes, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Vines and more, and they released their third and final album, In The Grace Of Your Love back in 2011. No word so far on an Australian tour, but stay tuned, you never know…
