More May heat.

Sharing a release day with one of the most highly anticipated albums of the year, there’s another North-Londoner coming up big today.

Having outgrown early Frank Ocean comparisons, Col3trane is clearly coming into his own. The title track ‘Heroine’ is Col3trane at his best: infectious, honest and introspective. One of his best qualities, (alongside an inherent ability to churn out irrepressible melodies) is that ability to invite you in as a listener but keep you at arm’s length. His content often seems to capture raw emotions in the moment they’re experienced and with that, comes equally conflicted feelings of excitement and uncertainty – all delivered with icy composure.

Collaborative tracks with Goldlink and DJDS and RAYE are the other standouts from the project, along with the previously released single ‘Problems In Us’. With three already released tracks, three new and one interlude, Col3trane fans won’t be disappointed with the EP’s breakdown.

May has already turned out a number of keepers including IGOR, 4REAL 4REAL, Nothing Great About Britain and Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. On first listen, we can add Ignorance is Bliss, ZUU and Heroine to that list, too. Col3trane’s taking his new tunes on a tour of the US this July and has already teased Europe dates to follow. Fingers crossed he adds Aussie dates to that schedule. For now, enjoy Heroine and all the other jewels dropped this month. Run it up.
