Ready for a refined night of ‘Steady Mobbin’ and classic, West Coast gangster rap?

Today, Sydney’s annual spectacular Vivid has announced its lineup and as always, there’s plenty to see, hear and do. With previously announced headliner Solange performing at the Sydney Opera House, a more eyebrow-raising act has now been scheduled to perform at the opulent venue. Gangster rap pioneer Ice Cube will perform four shows at the Sydney Opera House, from May 25 to May 28.

Whether it’s as a solo rapper or a member of N.W.A and Westside Connection, Ice Cube has been a foundational artist in West Coast hip-hop for decades, as well as a formidable actor in classic films including the Friday series and Boyz N The Hood. With the attention thrust back onto Cube and co. with biopics like Straight Outta Compton, and the current crop of Californian talents like Kendrick Lamar and YG, there’s no better time for the rap legend to make his way back down to Australia, and he certainly doesn’t have a shortage of material to choose from.

So, just how will Ice Cube go down at the Sydney Opera House? Get yourself a ticket here and find out:
