Daniel Johns brings the laughs in new These New South Whales trailer.

Sydney’s (self proclaimed) premiere punk outfit have teamed up with Newcastle’s grunge hero-turned-electro-enigma Daniel Johns to give fans a little taste of what’s to come in season two of their aptly-titled mockumentary series These New South Whales, and it’s got us super keen for another serving.

We watched on as series one delivered a pod of laughs, awkward pauses and cringe worthy comments as the cocky underdogs (again, self proclaimed) navigated the prickles of the music industry with cameos from DMA’s, Sticky Fingers, Kirin J Callinan and more, though there’s been little word on a second season – that is until today.

The cheeky four-piece clearly aren’t afraid to have a bit of a laugh at themselves, as seen here in the 30 second teaser of mostly wordless footage:

These New South Whales had a busy 2017 which saw them release their much loved debut album You Work For Us, full of catchy tunes with philosophical yet angsty musings from singer Jamie Timony, as well as playing a bunch of shows up and down the East Coast.

No info on a season two release date yet, but think of it as an opportunity to watch the whole of These New South Whales season one their website while you’re waiting for it.
