Telescreen share some BTS snaps from their ‘In Mind’ recording session.

Having demonstrated on previous singles ‘Crowded’ and ‘Love Proud’ an ability to craft delightfully sugary indie-rock that you can dance to, Melbourne-based five-piece Telescreen gifted us their latest tune ‘In Mind’ on Friday. And, safe to say, it’s their most exciting work to date.

The track, which feels like a mashup between Anglesera Strokes and Phoenix, sees the group offer waves of melodic hooks, backed by a steady groove and some slick basslines. It’s definitely a pop song, but it doesn’t feel forced or derivative in any way – it sounds like a band that are more than comfortable in their skin and genre.

“‘In Mind’ follows the story of someone feeling under-valued and taken for granted in a relationship,” frontman Nic Schwarz says of the track. “It’s about falling into that deadly trap of knowing you’re being mistreated and under-appreciated but being unsure of how to pull yourself out.”
