Byron Bay three-piece PLTS drop the emotional headbanger ‘Maelstrom’ just blow away those winter blues.

Having amassed over three million streams on spotify since their 2013 debut, Byron Bay’s PLTS (pronounced ‘pilots’) have certainly struck a chord with fans around the country and the world with their energetic take on garage-rock that packs a dizzying emotional punch. Trust us, you’ll be singing this one for days.

‘Maelstrom’ (we looked it up, it’s a powerful whirlpool in the sea or a river) is heavily influenced by the water in a metaphorical sense. “We chose to focus on a water theme, it’s such as significant theme in our personal lives and also is a great representation of the unpredictable nature and challenges in navigating the creation of music and in particular, this track,” the band says. “It’s a high-energy song and we can’t wait to convert that energy in to the live space.”

The group will be hitting the road in July for an East Coast tour in support of the track (info here) and from what we’ve heard you don’t want to miss out on their hugely energetic live show.
