Hailed as a concept driven artist and storyteller, sometimes Tasman Keith just likes to show out. ‘BILLY BAD AGAIN’ is a stark reminder of his raw ability to body the booth.

Following the recent release of his experimental and collaborative Evenings EP with Stevie Jean, and a Vice Documentary in which the Gumbaynggirr rapper proudly puts Bowraville on his back (if you’re unfamiliar with either we recommend correcting that situation ASAP), ‘BILLY BAD AGAIN’ is a razor-sharp exhibition of rap bravado.

Tasman Keith said the song, “came from a semi-frustrating studio session with my producers, Kapital J & James Mangohig. I was too focused on forcing out as many songs as I could. James had me step outside for a minute, [and] when I came back in Kapital J had this beat that he said was perfect for the vibe we were in. It was this aggressive yet braggadocious instrumental that reminded me to have fun with it and talk my shit. ‘BILLY BAD AGAIN’ is the side of me that is confident and unapologetic, it’s about being that guy wherever you are and for me it’s my turn to show that through my music, whilst throwing in two Adam Sandler movie references.”

Alongside the new track, Tasman Keith has also shared an eye-catching and impeccably styled ‘BILLY BAD AGAIN’ video. Kapital J, Tasman Keith’s brother, DJ, confidant and co-producer on this track (alongside Papertoy, James Mangohig and Michael Hohnen), also stars in the clip that sees the boys from Bowraville clock up some serious mileage as they turn all corners of the city into their stage. Importantly, the clip also boasts a head nod sequence rivalling that of Kendrick Lamar and co. on ‘HUMBLE.’, and Octavian, Skepta, and the enigmatic Michael Phantom, on ‘Bet’. Who did it best?
