The rumour mill has been in overdrive in the lead up to the official announcement, but here’s a little summary of the latest. Bonobo is very likely to appear on the lineup after announcing a single New Zealand date that lies just after the Splendour In The Grass dates.

FYF Festival takes place on the same weekend in Los Angeles, with a lineup boasting Solange, Bjork, Missy Elliot, Anderson.Paak and more, making it unlikely that these acts will appear at Splendour In The Grass. While logistically it is possible to play both festivals which take place over three days, it’s not looking promising. Also on the FYF Festival lineup is Frank Ocean, who we were hoping to play at SITG after his unfortunate cancellation in 2013.

Still, there’s plenty of acts who are eligible for a Splendour inclusion! Fuji Rock Festival, which has shared many acts with SITG in the past, boasts the likes of The XX, LCD Soundsystem and Major Lazer – with Diplo having just sold out his biggest Australian tour earlier this month. Also on the Fuji lineup is Lorde, who replaced the aforementioned Frank Ocean in captivating fashion.

Furthermore, the SITG & Falls Festival showcase at SXSW featured the likes of Tkay Maidza and Hockey Dad, prompting us to guess that some of the acts will appear in Byron Bay.

All will be revealed on Wednesday, so sit tight.
