We love a skyrocketing success story – especially if it’s from Sydney City – and it’s been a whirlwind fortnight for 18-year-old singer Ruby Fields.

Earlier this month, her down-to-earth, riff-heavy anthem ‘I Want’ was uploaded to Triple J Unearthed, spreading like wildfire before being added to Triple J high rotation. In fact, the buzz for her debut single was so strong that ‘I Want’ has even skipped across the pond to BBC Radio 1. Not bad for a first effort, right? Now, Ruby’s debut headline show has been announced and by the looks of things, this might be your last chance to catch her in a snug venue.

Ruby will be performing on Thursday, June 29 at Hudson Ballroom, bringing along special guests Rachel Maria Cox & Uncle Axel. You might remember that back in 2013, Lorde played one of her first shows at the same venue – then dubbed Goodgod Small Club – and we wouldn’t be surprised if Ruby achieves similar breakout success in the coming months.
