We might be heading into the holiday season, but Perth rapper José Halftime isn’t slowing down his work rate.

It’s been a busy year for the WA native, who’s already dropped two videos during the tail end of 2018, as well as spreading himself throughout different corners of the underground. He played the WVS showcase gig earlier this year, as well as the hugely-popular Get Bodied tour alongside some of our favourites including Fortay, Wombat and Perth’s own upcoming sensation, Shadow.

Now, José Halftime drops an early Christmas present in the form of his new video for ‘Cashmere.’ The self-produced track displays his nonchalant flow over smooth production with a distinct throwback feel (his name comes from Nas’ classic Illmatic track) and slicing percussion. “I hope people can enjoy the vibe and message which is overcoming any hardships and keeping persistent,” José says of the single.

The accompanying video directed by JustPlay Media sees José roaming around Perth, including at a car junkyard and a pizza store (two of our favourite locations, to be honest) with plenty of close-up shots of his Nike Cortez. Watch the smooth anthem of perseverance below, and stay tuned for more from José in 2019:
