Overnight, J. Cole’s Dreamville Records shared a short documentary about the making of their upcoming compilation album Revenge Of The Dreamers III.

Back in January, Cole rounded up the whole Dreamville team for a ten day recording retreat to smash out the label’s third collaborative project. News around the release had been pretty thin on the ground until this week when two more singles ‘LamboTruck’ and ‘Costa Rica’, an official release date (finally), and the short documentary were released. It’s pretty safe to say that anticipation levels are at an all-time high as fans speculate and attempt to crack cryptic social media posts to gain any further insight into the project. Thankfully, the wait is almost over with the album out tomorrow, Friday, 5 July.

Along with the full Dreamville roster, J. Cole also invited an A-list selection of rappers and producers to the sessions including Vince Staples, Ty Dolla $ign, Tay Keith, No I.D., Smino, Buddy, Reason, Swizz Beatz and former NBA star Chris Bosh, to name a few. The 29 minute short-film ‘Dreamville Presents: Revenge’, is a behind the scenes look at those studio sessions and offers fascinating insight into the collaborative/competitive nature of hip hop, shows Cole getting personal and opening up on features and Compton rapper Buddy jumping on absolutely everything.
