Angelina Jolie is one of the world’s biggest and most vocal stars, but everybody starts somewhere – as evidenced by this 1993 editorial for Look Magazine.

In this series of images, an 18-year-old Jolie shows the world how to sport pigtails and beige clothing (so nineties) and even engages in a very rare desert rap squat for the editorial. Hey, it’s not as good as Jennifer Lopez squatting in a pair of Nike TN’s, but we’ll take it.

This was one of Jolie’s first forays into fashion, and in the same year, she made her first professional acting debut in Cyborg 2. It would be another eight years before she captured our hearts as Lara Croft in Tomb Raider in 2001.

Who know that this girl in a small British magazine would grow to become a household name, a strong humanitarian voice and the mother of six children?
