Sometimes, things just go hand in hand. Like fine wine and cheese, sunburn and the Australian summer, or brusses and Stereosonic.

That’s why when we come across a collab that so wholeheartedly makes sense, we’re left feeling both satisfied and ecstatic. Late last year, Burton Snowboards announced a collaboration with Playboy, featuring vintage centrefolds and artwork by acclaimed tattoo artist Chris Nunez. Ultimate satisfaction ensues.

Matt Nordby, Playboy Enterprises’ President of Global Licensing, explains, “We’re excited to continue our long-standing relationship with Burton and open up our archives for the new line of Burton x Playboy snowboards. Playboy’s fun and creative attitude has been a natural fit with snowboard enthusiasts and Burton fans for years, and we’re proud to work with a great partner like Burton.”

What’s so wonderful about this collab is the sense of nostalgia it gives us. Using vintage centrefolds, Burton and Playboy eliminate any tackiness that could be associated with printing Playboy girls on snowboards. There’s also something so fitting about the playfulness of 70’s and 80’s Playboy, overlaid with the unique art of Nunez, crossed with the free lifestyle of snowboarding. It’s a match made in heaven.

“Playboy is one of the most iconic brands in the world, and we’re proud to have worked with them on a number of projects for over a decade,” said Jake Burton, Founder & Chairman of Burton Snowboards. “Our latest creation, the 2016 Burton x Playboy Process snowboards, is my personal favorite because we also collaborated with our good friend and renowned tattoo artist, Chris Nunez. The end result is a beautiful board that looks as good as it rides. And just like all of our past collaborations with Playboy, I’m sure it will be a collector’s item.”

The boards are available as part of Burton’s 2016 winter collection, and can be found on Burton.com, as well as flagship stores across the U.S., Australia, Europe and Canada. Fall in love with the new designs below.
