It seems like everybody wants a piece of producer and Snapchat sensation DJ Khaled – and now he’s dropped the major announcement that he has a track with Kendrick Lamar on the way.

There’s no denying that Khaled is the king of collaborations, with most of his star-studded singles becoming certified hits. From ‘Gold Slugs’ to ‘I’m On One’ to ‘All I Do Is Win’, Khaled’s recipe makes for contagious, addictive listening – and we’re very curious as to what a track with Kendrick Lamar is going to sound like.

Speaking to The Cruz Show, Khaled said that both parties have agreed on the track, although it’s still in its early stages:

“I am talking to Kendrick Lamar about an anthem that I want him on. He waiting on me actually. I told him I was tweaking something, ’cause I want to present it where the mic just automatically comes on… Me and Kendrick been talking about it. I’ve seen him a few times since I’ve been out here. I’ve been staying in touch with Top Dawg.”

While the Compton emcee explored jazz and soul sounds on To Pimp A Butterfly, he’s also flexed his potential for bangers on tracks like ‘Swimming Pools’ and guest features like ‘Fucking Problems’, so we’re sure that he’ll have no trouble sliding into Khaled’s more club-heavy production. Given Khaled’s strike rate and the heat surrounding Kendrick Lamar following his surprise project ‘Untitled Unmastered’, we’re betting this will be a banger.
