A few weeks ago, we took a mini-vacation for the Carlton Dry Independent Music Awards. It was a collection of the who’s-who of local music, filled with booze and strong banter at Melbourne’s historic Meat Market.

There were plenty of winners on the night, but the big one was local emcee Remi – who took home the award for Best Independent Hip-Hop Album for his album Raw X Infinity, as well as Carlton Dry’s $50,000 Global Music Grant. If that wasn’t enough, he also closed off the night with a riveting performance of ‘Tyson’.
