That’s got to be some kind of record…

It’s more than fair to say we’re all missing flying and international travel. From being cramped up in a little economy seat to being sat next to old mate who’s full on heaving into his vomit bag, we miss it all. Qantas knows this as well, and as a result they’re coming through hard with their ‘Flight To Nowhere’ package.

The sightseeing flight allows customers to travel around Australia without a specific destination, the seven-hour scenic making a “giant loop” around the country. From Queensland to the Gold Coast to NSW and the outback, if you’ve ever wanted to travel Australia, now’s the time. But sadly, all 134 tickets for the flight (ranging from around $770 AUD to $3,750 AUD) have already sold out. In ten minutes to be exact.

The flight will allow Aussies to see iconic attracts like Sydney Harbour and the Great Barrier Reef, while doing a low flyover other landmarks. The Qantas Boeing 787 will be responsible for performing the flight, its big windows being perfectly suited to the job. The flights will also include onboard entertainment, include a surprise celebrity host (fingers for one of the Hemsworth brothers).

“It’s probably the fastest selling flight in Qantas history,” said Qantas CEO Alan Joyce.

“People clearly miss travel and the experience of flying. If the demand is there, we’ll definitely look at doing more of these scenic flights while we all wait for borders to open.”

Damn right, we’re definitely hoping they commission more of these flights in the future.
