The Reebok renaissance has been coming in strong for the past few seasons, with the Classic and Ventilator silhouettes flying off shelves and bolstered by coveted, Compton-inspired designs from Kendrick Lamar. Highs & Lows are no strangers to Reebok either, having dropped seven collaborations with the sportswear giant – including an autumnal take on the Classic and a LX8500 that was accompanied by one of the hottest anoraks in the game.
While the NPC UK is one of their most subdued Reebok collaborations yet, it’s filled with the understated detailing that sneaker fans geek over. They haven’t skipped out on quality, with an upper that’s made from Gerecke European deer leather. Do you know what Gerecke means? Neither do we, but the leather sure does feel lovely on our feet.
HAL take some tennis inspiration with a colourway drawn from Perth’s own Hopman Cup, while the wood grain eyelets are a nod to the racquets of yesteryear. The insoles are also decorated with tennis court markings, making this a cohesive concept right down to the last detail. To top it off, HAL even threw a ping pong competition in Perth to launch the shoe, with the winner taking out $1000 in cash! The event also featured flowing beers, burgers and Perth selectors including Kit Pop and our good mate Aslan.
