While most people who watch the Melbourne Cup really don’t give a flying fuck about horse racing, it’s a nice excuse to get dressed up, have a day off work and write yourself off completely on a Tuesday.

Still, some Sydneysiders have no such luxury – we’re working hard at our office desks, but thankfully a new Instagram account is capturing all the action for us. This account titled @drunkgirlsofmelbournecup has been chronicling all the most amazing and disgraceful moments from past Melbourne Cup celebrations, and it’s pretty great.
