The skate giants have put their money where their mouth is.

It’s no secret that the fashion industry, particularly fast fashion, is one of the most destructive environmental forces. Using hundreds of thousands of litres of water, dumping toxic dyes and chemicals into the water and releasing tonnes of carbon into the air is all in a day’s work for many brands, and people are starting to take notice. It’s an issue that many companies simply ignore, but the legends at Globe – on top of being the raddest action sports garment slingers – have had enough.

Today we are beyond stoked to share the news that the brand, which was founded in Australia back in 1985, has said enough is enough. Putting people and the natural world ahead of profits, they’ve transitioned to be a 100% ethical brand, and have released a range of sustainable fabrics and non-toxic inks and dyes to go along with it. The re-shaping will also see a refinement of their capsules, making their range smaller whilst maximising the quality.

“As founders we looked at ourselves and what role, purpose, and just reason for being Globe clothing had. I mean it’s not like the market needs another line of t-shirts for the sake of it. We wanted to realign the whole approach to represent the real lifestyle and priorities of the riders we represent, and let those values guide the way, and separate ourselves from the clutter,” says co-founder Peter Hill.

They’re backing their new low-velocity ethos too, offering guaranteeing any item purchased will be free of defects in materials and/or workmanship for the lifetime of the product. This is not a sustainable capsule,or a couple of tees, this is their whole line, top to bottom, including skateboard decks and shoes. Check out all the products right here and shop with a clear conscience – we know we will be!
