After countless headlines and immeasurable controversy for his controversial views regarding COVID-19, 5G and vaccinations, Chef Pete Evans has stepped it up to another level, announcing he’s making a run for politics. The former My Kitchen Rules co-host will be gunning for the Senate and will run as a candidate for the Great Australia Party, which was started by former One Nation senator Rod Culleton.
Releasing a statement on Evans’ run, Culleton seems to be backing him all the way, saying “Pete Evans has maintained his principles and inspired others in the face of uncommon adversity. Pete is fully supportive of the GAP ethos, supporting restoration of the Commonwealth and the preservation of democracy in Australia.
“Throughout his engagement with GAP’s national selection committee, Pete presented an unwavering commitment to advancing the freedoms of all Australians. As a result, he has been resoundingly approved.”
To be fair, Evans did give us warning, posting a logo of the Great Australia Party last month along with the caption “‘The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.’ Stay tuned for an announcement next week.” Well, now that cryptic post definitely makes a whole lot of sense.

It’s been a pretty weird time for Evans lately, from posting a meme that included a neo-nazi symbol to losing all his sponsors in the blink of an eye. No doubt his political aspirations will definitely shake things up for him. For now, check out the full statement below and get ready for a bunch more Pete Evans headlines to come.
