In what promises to be the most cooked movie of 2023, the trailer for Cocaine Bear has finally dropped, eight months after its announcement. Directed by American actress and filmmaker Elizabeth Banks (Pitch Perfect, Charlie’s Angels), the film is based on the true story from 1985 of a black bear who ate a duffel-bag worth of cocaine after a drug runner’s plane crashed in the US state of Georgia.

“Inspired by the 1985 true story of a drug runner’s plane crash, missing cocaine, and the black bear that ate it, this wild thriller finds an oddball group of cops, criminals, tourists and teens converging in a Georgia forest where a 500- pound apex predator has ingested a staggering amount of cocaine and gone on a coke-fueled rampage for more blow … and blood,” a synopsis for the film describes.
With all the ingredients to be a major box office hit, the first official trailer for Cocaine Bear only confirms the hype. Watch it for yourself below.
