Good bye, Vietnam.

Thirty-six years after coming to fame courtesy of his wacky, alien character Mork in hit television series Mork & Mindy, comedy legend Robin Williams has left us – found dead by his wife this morning in an apparent suicide.

Writing this sucks a big one.

Truth be told, he was a kinda wacky, alien bloke in real life. Everyone loved him. And he loved a drink. And the cocaine, too.

He gave that up in the late 1980s and lived 20 years or so of sobriety, giving us comic gems such as Mrs Doubtfire, Jumanji, the Genie in Aladdin, The Bird Cage, Night at the Museum (the sequel soon to be released) and so many more.
Then there’s his epic stand-up, and those critically acclaimed roles as teachers in Dead Poets Society and Good Will Hunting, that made us resent our own teachers that little bit more.
But a few years back he re-lapsed and hit the bottle hard and found himself in hospital with heart issues. He’d been battling depression ever since and it finally got the better of him today.
But he got in a few good parting shots before he left, taking down Kim Kardashian in a classic Tweet one of the more recent highlights.

His self-deprecating humour made for comedy gold and in a world where Kevin James is considered funny, his untimely will have us mourning his loss to comedy and the world forever more.
