Spotify has also unveiled its top-performing artists and songs for 2022…

Spotify Wrapped has well and truly become an institution, and each December the streaming giant unveils a brand-spanking new (and improved) version. 2022 is no different, with this year’s Spotify Wrapped offering up some quirky new features, packaged in a slick and shareable design.

Along with your usual personalised stats – like top artists, songs, genres and podcasts, and how many minutes you spent streaming over the year – one new feature is the addition of music moods for morning, afternoon and night. With someone over at Spotify HQ obviously having a field day, these “moods” are conveyed through notably wack descriptions – like “Gentle Cottagecore Goblincore” or “Hopeless Romantic Lovecore Angst” – based on your listening habits.

On top of that, this year’s Spotify Wrapped will assign you a Myers-Briggs style Listening Personality type from 16 options, including “Adventurer”, “Fanclubber”, “Specialist”, and “The Replayer”.

This year, Spotify has also included several messages from artists including Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish and J Balvin, which you can see if you happen to have one of them in your Wrapped.

Spotify has also unveiled data about the best-performing artists of 2022, with the top spot going to Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny for the third year in a row. Meanwhile, Taylor Swift nabbed the second spot, followed by Drake in third place, and The Weeknd and BTS in fourth and fifth.

The most-streamed songs told a slightly different story, with first place going to Harry Styles’ ‘As It Was’, followed by Glass Animals’ ‘Heat Waves’. In third place was ‘Stay’ by Australia’s very own The Kid LAROI (featuring Justin Bieber), followed by ‘Me Porto Bonito’ and ‘Tití Me Preguntó’, both by Bad Bunny.
