Fresh from Kurt Cobain documentary Montage of Heck and a ‘Best Of’ vinyl release in the coming weeks, the world is still wrapped up in Nirvana-mania, which makes this teeanger’s discovery all the more awesome.

Maggie Poukkula is the daughter of Tony Poukkula, a Seattle musician who grew up with Kurt Cobain. Last week, she Tweeted a series of photographs she found tucked away in her father’s copy of a Cobain biography of the two playing together, but she wasn’t aware of the photographs’ historical significance.

Soon after sharing them online, Poukkula was informed that the photographs were from Nirvana’s first ever gig at a house party in Raymond, Washington in 1987 – hosted by Tony Poukkula himself, who also joined the band for a Led Zeppelin cover.

“My dad showed me them a while back, but he never mentioned that’s what was going on in the photos. I found out because of all the articles. I didn’t realize it was such a historical thing. I thought they were just cool pictures of my dad and Kurt jamming together,” she told Rolling Stone.

Now, the story has gained global traction – and has given fans all over the world a nice peak into the origins of one of the most important rock bands of all time.

Shoutout to Maggie and her cool dad:
