Possibly the worst opinion anyone could have on anything…

In another instalment of tensions flaring between countries, Sweden has fired some rather blatant shots at Aussie culture, featuring a jar of Vegemite at their Disgusting Food Museum.

Situated in the Swedish city of Malmö, curator of the museum Samuel West said in an interview that Vegemite had acquired the placement due to the “traumatic food experience” it offered when mistaken for Nutella. However, in what’s earned old mate a couple of brownie points, it seems he’s actually against the unfavourable designation, adding “I love Vegemite so I’m kind of sad that it’s in the museum.”

Hilariously, the museum has added a full breakdown of Vegemite and how it’s created in the exhibit, along with adding a quote from former President Obama in 2011 stating that he found the national treasure to be “horrible.”

Aussies have been quick to hit back against the remarks, with one brave soul Claire going so far as making her own addition to the display, writing on a note, “It’s a no from me (except Vegemite, you clearly don’t get it…).”

However, it seems like this isn’t meant to be an attack on the land Down Under, with West adding that the museum is supposed to be a study of disgust, rather than an objective ranking of foods. Still, it’s something of a punch in the guts from the people who consider IKEA hotdogs as edible cuisine. Check out the “exhibit” above, along with homegrown legend Claire’s response below.
