While Beau Ryan played several seasons of first-grade footy at the Cronulla Sharks and Wests Tigers, he’s perhaps better known for his comedic skits on The Footy Show and around town.

When he was forced into retirement last year due to injury, his solid banter has meant that he still keeps a high profile in sports and entertainment. Here, he joins radio personalities Fitzy & Wippa on Nova 96.9 to deliver his rendition of Eminem’s cult adrenaline anthem ‘Lose Yourself’.

With a faux American accent to help him sound like he’s straigh outta 8 Mile, this is actually a pretty strong effort from Ryan – who manages to hold a consistent flow before breaking into ad-lib. While he’s released singles with Justice Crew in the past, perhaps this signals a new career path for Ryan in Australia’s flourishing hip-hop scene.
