It’s been a few weeks since we returned from the US Open of Surfing, and boy, this year was a belter.

Taking over Huntington Beach in California, the West Coast put on a signature display of faultless sunshine for the gathering of world-class riders and all-round legends. Aside from the action in the ocean, there was also the Vans Park Series event for skateboarders, marking the last qualifying event before the World Championships in Shanghai next month.

We immortalised some memories from the manic trip with our trusty camera, teaming the film images with some illustrations and captions below. It feels like arts and crafts class again, and we have absolutely no complaints.
