Ahead of its week-long cinema run on May 12, Australia was treated to a launch party for surf film Proximity at the QT Hotel.

Focusing on eight talents including John John Florence, Kelly Slater, Craig Anderson and Stephanie Gilmore, the film follows the surfing elite as they face oceans in Mexico, Japan, Scotland and more. On the night, we got correlating cuisine: Sushi and tacos to nibble on while watching the film’s beautiful footage first hand.

The film will be showing for one week only, starting from this Friday at Event and Village cinemas across Australia. As a bonus, filmmakers Taylor Steele & Michael Lawrence will be hosting Q&A sessions across the country, which will also house VR experiences where you can surf with the film’s stars via headsets.
