Australian sneaker aficionados and tracksuit enthusiasts have long forked out their credit cards to shop online at JD Sports, but the world-renowned ‘King Of Trainers’ will be opening its first Australian store next week.

Over the years, we’ve unboxed dozens of Air Max 95 deliveries from JD Sports and their iconic yellow bags, and now it’s hitting a little closer to home. Melbourne Central will be housing their new flagship store opening on Thursday April 27, and we are bloody stoked. This is huge news for people who go to the gym, people who enjoy dressing like they go to the gym, and grime fans.

Back in the UK, JD Sports has played home to sportswear giants like Nike, Adidas, Lacoste, Ellesse and The North Face, all of which will all be sold at the Australian arrival. We’re also keeping our fingers crossed for Emporio Armani tracksuits! Furthermore, we do know that JD Sports Melbourne will sell 169 exclusive products – 79 footwear items, and 91 apparel items.

Those 169 exclusives will include Nike’s freshly-released Vapormax, lightweight Flyknit Racer and plenty of quickstrike Air Max 95s – including that Silver Bullet remix. For those who are more inclined towards the three stripes, Adidas’ classic EQT will be in stock, as well as their ever-popular Ultraboost and NMD models.

Head down to Melbourne Central next Thursday to see JD Sports in the flesh, and if you reside intertstate, hold tight – there’s good things coming. The head of JD Sports Australia, Hilton Seskin, says “our store expansion will be sustainable within the current retail climate, but expect to see JD Sports at key locations throughout NSW, VIC and QLD by the end of 2017 with the intention to continue to expand over the foreseeable future.”

Stay cozy.
