Kendrick Lamar Unveils His Nike ‘Cortez Kenny 1’ Sneaker
L.A all over.

It’s been a few months since Kendrick Lamar jumped ship from Reebok to Nike, and now we have pictures of his collaborative sneaker with the swoosh.

Having grown up in Compton, Los Angeles, it’s no surprise that Kung Fu Kenny has chosen to bless the Cortez, given the shoe’s popularity and significance in the region. Here, we seeĀ DAMNĀ stitched in red onto a white leather upper, with contrast provided by a black tongue which also swaps out Nike branding for Lamar’s album title.

It’s a clean effort that’s nowhere near as head-turning as the ‘Don’t Trip’ edition we saw on Instagram, but some might prefer this slightly more minimal take – and who doesn’t love a crispy white pair of Cortez?

The Cortez Kenny 1 was recently premiered by Lamar himself during halftime at the recent Alabama vs Georgia National Championship game, and will release on January 26 to the public. Take a look at the detailed shots below, and expect more from this rapper-sportswear union throughout 2018:
