What better way to celebrate the coming together of two iconic brands than an instore party at Puma Westfield Chatswood on 808 Day, Wednesday August 8th.

On the surface it doesn’t seem like legendary sports brand PUMA and Japanese electronic instrument pioneers Roland would have much in common. In fact, other than being top of their games, you could say that the two come from pretty different sides of the retail world. However, take one look at the fruits of their collab and you’ll realise that (somehow) they were meant to be together.

Inspired by the Rolands revolutionary TR-808 drum machine, RS-100 and RS-0 sneakers mimic the retro colours and layout of the instrument that is credited as providing the backing track to early hip-hop. So, like, wearing one is no only kind of like wearing a little bit of hip-hop history, but they also look cool AF.

To celebrate the launch, PUMA Chatswood will be kicking it (excuse the pun) instore from 5pm-8pm Wednesday the 8th and are also offering you the chance to win a one on one with a Roland guru in your music genre of choice to get the lowdown on how to work the new 808. Sounds (pun intended) pretty sweet right? All you have to do is buy a pair of the Roland X PUMA from the Chatswood store and give a 25 word explanation on what makes you the next Roland 808 guru. Too easy.

You also have the opportunity to try the Roland TR-08 in the store the whole day on Wednesday, with the genius crew from Roland offering their crafty hands in assistance from 6pm-8pm, which is kind of like getting Albert Einstein to help you with your homework.

So remember, it’s all going down at next Wednesday August 8th at PUMA Westfield Chatswood (enter level 6 via Albert Avenue Rooftop after close of centre hours) with the party happening from 5pm-8pm.
