South-West Sydney’s own B Wise has firmly established himself as one of the city’s best breakthrough rappers, and he’ll be continuing his mission in Byron Bay at this year’s Splendour In The Grass.
Still riding high from his Semi Pro EP – a solid mix of introspective rhymes and street narratives – Wise has toured with international heavyweights like Freddie Gibbs and fellow Splendour visitor ScHoolboy Q, as well as delivering sizzling collaborations with legendary Elefant Traks labelmates like Horrorshow and Urthboy. Up at Splendour, he’ll be getting the party started early at the Mix Up stage for Red Bull Sound Select’s first night fever party on Thursday, performing along a blockbuster local lineup including Mansionair, Sampa The Great, GL and more.
It’s going to be a nice precursor for the next three days of shenanigans at North Byron Parklands – and ahead of the event, Wise has shared his essential style tips to get you through Splendour unscathed. There’s no doubt that your mother’s begging you to take another sweater and to bring another toothbrush, and Wise has some equally sage advice for your trip.

Bring tissues in case you sprinkle when you tinkle – stuffed in clothes, also great insulation.
A poncho to protect yourself from all things messy – and rain.
Sunscreen to protect you from the rays – you don’t want to over cook – synthetic or natural, burns aren’t cool.
Plastic bags over you’re sneakers! For those who still wanna keep it fresh in the mud and don’t do the gum boot look.
