The undisputed hero of the 2000s, Chingy is returning to Australia to send you in a tear-inducing shimmy down memory lane, lined with oversize jeans and du-rags.

It’s been a few years since I witnessed the greatness that is a Chingy live show. It was at Establishment in Sydney, a venue way out of my comfort zone and price range, so we got hella turnt and possibly also shirtless. That’s why I expect that his upcoming gig at Marquee will also provide the goods, with promoters promising that he will run through hits like ‘Right Thurr’ and ‘Holidae Inn’. We’re not sure where else Chingy will be gracing with his presence, but lock it in: Sydney on May 15 will be the epicentre of bangers for one night only.

We haven’t heard much from Chingy in the past few years, but in his glory days he was signed to Ludacris’ Disturbing Tha Peace imprint, and anything Ludacris does is fucking excellent – including his outstanding Jessica Mauboy duet. Long live Ludacris! If you’d like to get a little nostalgic before the real Chingy hits Sydney, head along to The Naughty Noughties this weekend at The Cliff Dive, which is a party solely dedicated to hip-hop from the 2000s.

Blast ‘One Call Away’ in your Hyundai hatchback before grabbing your tickets right here. Details below, where you can also watch some of Chingy’s best video clips for some fashion inspo:
