It's a big one.

It’s just a few months until Splendour In The Grass takes over North Byron Parklands from July 21, and it looks like the first international act has leaked their place on the lineup.

As reported by Inthemix, British producer Bonobo has revealed that he will be playing a show in New Zealand on July 27, which sits comfortably close to Splendour’s wrap-up date on July 23. Seeing as he’s based in Los Angeles, that’s an awfully long way to travel for one show – and we’re betting that he’ll make a Splendour appearance before hopping across the Tasman for his confirmed gig.

There’s more good news, because Bonobo’s New Zealand show will also feature his full live band, who bring his serene electronic works to life onstage. It’s a spectacle in every sense, so let’s pray that the full band makes it Down Under too! And seeing as he’s recently collaborated with Nick Murphy, let’s add him to the wish list.

A few weeks ago, Splendour In The Grass & Falls Festival announced their SXSW showcase featuring Tkay Maidza and Hockey Dad as well as some emerging internationals, which also gives us some big hints as to who might be playing the mega-festivals. Moreover, the Fuji Rock Festival features Major Lazer, The XX and Lorde, all of whom would fit nicely into a SITG headline slot.

We’ll have to wait until April for the confirmation, but Bonobo’s looking like a winner for SITG.
