In news that will make hip hop fans very happy, Chicago OG Kanye West has taken to Twitter to tease the first single ‘Wash Us In The Blood’ from his upcoming album God’s Country. The teaser features a ten second clip of a man passionately preaching/ singing into a microphone, with the only sound able to be heard being a melancholic musical backdrop. It appears the album will be a continuation of West’s venturing into nonsecular and gospel music following Jesus Is King in 2019.
Hints have slowly been dropped over the past year, with renowned artist Arthur Jafa first confirming the project with fashion icon Michele Lamy back in late May, as well as West seemingly floating the title in an interview with GQ in April. There was also a video circulating the internet back in November of Ye in the studio with Dr. Dre working on a project which was called Jesus Is King Part II, but it’s unclear whether those sessions contributed to God’s Country.
