Over the past few weeks, a few high-profile names have been rumoured for Splendour In The Grass’ three-day return to Byron Bay in July.

Arctic Monkeys are one act who have been thrown into the mix, while a few days ago, The Wombats confirmed their appearance at Splendour in a live chat to fans. Now, a couple of other heavy-hitters have been added to the rumour mill, thanks to an initial lineup announcement from Fuji Rock Festival.

Traditionally, the Japanese event shares a few major acts with Splendour, and headlining their 2018 event is none other than Kendrick Lamar. The Compton rapper just topped the Hottest 100 with ‘Humble’ and is due for a return after releasing DAMN. and headlining Bluesfest 2016, while his TDE colleague ScHoolboy Q performed at Splendour’s main stage last year. He’s also currently picking up plenty of steam for his role in curating the widely-acclaimed Black Panther soundtrack.

Also announced on the Fuji Rock lineup is recent Australian visitor Anderson. Paak, OWSLA bass expert Skrillex and excitingly enough, the electric N.E.R.D – with Pharrell Williams and co. making their comeback in late 2017 with Rihanna collaboration ‘Lemon’ and the No One Ever Really Dies album. Plus, the likes of MGMT and Years & Years are practically begging to be placed on a stage at Splendour.

See the whole Fuji Rock announcement below, and expect at least some of these names to be making a quick trip to Australia when Splendour hits North Byron Parklands from Friday, July 20 to Sunday, July 22:
