Fans of Tame Impala, who have been waiting for new tunes for quite some time (seriously, Currents came out in 2015), have today received a few signs that some new music will be filling our ears shortly. Fingers crossed, but these clues all paint the picture that Kevin Parker and co’s fourth studio album is imminent.
Firstly, Tame’s headlining slot at Coachella is coming up and it would be pretty weird to not even have a new single before they take the stage in April. Secondly, it’s just been announced that they will be performing on Saturday Night Live on March 30th, and it would be straight-up bizarre for them to go out an perform an old song. And finally, there is the Instagram post below that from under a day ago with what sounds like a new Tame tune.
So if we had to take a stab and guess, we’d say we will be hearing something fresh within the next couple of weeks from the synth-psych legends. Stay tuned!
