After spending much of 2017 on the road, the Perth psych exports deliver some fresh new material.

POND fans rejoice, the Perth band have released a brand new track from the deluxe edition of their highly acclaimed 2017 album The Weather, and it’s just in time for their triumphant return to Australian shores for Laneway Festival. ‘Fire in the Water’ is a funky, upbeat number with all the trimmings we’ve come to love from POND with the silky sheen of a Tame Impala track (the song was produced by Kevin Parker).

The accompanying video which was directed by visual artist Kristofski, sees the band cruising the streets of Tokyo while frontman Nick Allbrook exhibits an array of flashy dance moves that could only be described as ‘unique’. It’s beautifully shot and captures the spirit of the song as it sways between 70’s-style keyboard riffs and catchy vocal hooks.
