The Californian kings of heartstrung garage release the gritty track ahead of the Australian leg of their Beach Goth Australian tour in January.

Don’t know about you guys, but over the past few summers tracks from The Growlers Chinese Fountain and City Club have been playlist staples for us. Singer Brooks Nielsen’s unmistakeable crooning, backed by twangy guitars or edgy synths has become synonymous with cruising to the beach with the windows down, or cracking a couple of beers on a breezy afternoon, so we’re stoked to be bringing you a brand new tune from the band, ‘Who Loves The Scum’.

Produced by Julian Casablancas and Shawn Everett (Alabama Shakes, War On Drugs, Weezer), the track features the wailing avant-guarde guitar solos and doubled vocals we heard on City Club, mixed with the rawness of their 2018 demo collection Casual Acquaintances. Of course there’s sprays of surf, and a wash of garage-rock, as well as an abundance of vocal hooks and memorable lines like, “Wait for the crumbling sky / Rain down radiated love / Wait for the crumbling night / Send the spirit from above.”
