Last week, The Preatures played a bittersweet set at Splendour In The Grass where they farewelled founding member Gideon Bensen, who is now departing the band to focus on a solo career.

Among the highlights was the live debut of a new single titled ‘I Know A Girl’ – and after receiving a premiere on the Triple J airwaves yesterday, the track has now surfaced online in all of its studio quality glory. ‘I Know A Girl’ delivers jangling eighties vibes and sweaty riffs that evoke images of pubs packed to the brim – and as per usual, Isabella Manfredi’s vocals spearhead the track with retrospective charm. Speaking on the song, she says that ‘I Know A Girl’ is “about the sisterhood, girls’ relationships and how they talk about each other.”

The band are currently working on the follow-up to their 2014 effort Blue Planet Eyes, which contains the omnipresent single ‘Is This How You Feel?’ If ‘I Know A Girl’ is anything to go by, then we’re in for a treat – listen below and get your dose of local rock n’ roll below. We also trekked across the country with The Preatures last year on their acoustic tour with Corona Extra – see the pictures here, here and here:
