Chalamet has signed on for the film according to Deadline.

In a week where we haven’t had much good news, we have a little bit of info that will hopefully give people out there something to smile about – Timothée Chalamet will be playing Bob Dylan in an upcoming film, reportedly titled Going Electric. If that title is anything to go off, we can safely assume that the film will centre around Dylan’s 1965 transformation to performing with electric “rock ‘n’ roll” instruments, having previously been the godfather of acoustic folk.

Director James Mangold, who directed Johnny Cash biopic Walk The Line AKA one of the greatest films ever, is reportedly set to direct the film, meaning it’s in good hands. It will be interesting to see how shaggy-haired heartthrob Chalamet takes to the role, especially since Dylan has been played by some of the most popular actors/actresses of our time including Cate Blanchette, Christian Bale and Richard Gere in 2007 film I’m Not There.

Can he sing? Does he have that cutthroat Dylan attitude? Stay tuned for more…
